Even thought Konecto floors are extremely durable floating vinyl flooring, even the best floor coverings are going to need some basic care to keep looking their finest. The type of floor you have, the amount of traffic it endures and the type of traffic it endures all goes into how often and how thorough you will need to be cleaning and maintaining it.

The color will also make a difference, as lighter floors will show scuffs and damage easier. Darker floors will not show scratches, scuffs, dirty or other damage quite as easily. All of these factors go into how often you will need to be cleaning your Konecto floor planks.

The first step you should take in cleaning your Konecto floating vinyl flooring are prevention methods. In order to prevent damage, you will want to use protectors on any hard edged items that you have on your floors. From tables, to chairs or anything with wood, glass or metal legs. Metal or plastic glides are good for protecting your floors as well as making it easier to move things around.

To protect your konecto floor from burns you should not allow smoking, matches or other hot items near them. Once the floor has been damaged by heat, it would most likely need to be replaced.

Do not flood the floor or subject it to standing water for any real length of time. If you are going to mop the floor, it should not be left for long periods of time.

You should protect your floor from tracked-in dirt by having mats at every entrance. If the dirt or rubble does make it in, make sure it is removed as quickly as possible to prevent light to medium scratching from occuring. While one or two might not be readily visible, it can definitely add up over time. It’s not suggested that you use rubber-backed mats because certain types of rubbers can damage Konecto. Do not use vinegar or any other oil soaps as they can damage floating floors like Konecto.

Konecto floors are naturally resistant to stains, so most common spills that occur in your home will not be a problem, but it still needs to be cleaned up immediately. The longer a spill is left on the floor, the more likely it will leave some visible residue after it’s cleaneed.

Konecto flooring should not be left in sunlight for prolonger periods or it might get discolored. During the highest peak of sunlight, it’s recommended that you close blinds or curtains so the sun damage does not add up over time.

When dealing with floating vinyl floors you should take these precautions as well as many others to ensure they last as long as they can, and stay as beautiful as the day you installed them.
